LEAVING
July 8, 1999
When a friend of mine passed away, I gave her family copies of I WILL NOT SAY GOOD BYE and MY LOVE WILL REMAIN, but I wanted to write a poem especially for them, and this is what I came up with.

CHOICES
August 1, 1999
Sometimes when our friends are going through tough times, all we can do is let them know that we’re there for them. This was my way of letting one of my dearest friends that I would always be there for him, no matter what.

THE LADY IN THE HARBOR
July 18, 2002
It took me almost a year to put my feelings about the attack on the World Trade Center last September into words. New York City is my hometown. The first job I ever had was at Modell’s Sporting Goods at 200 Broadway, one block away from the World Trade Center. This poem was inspired by an editorial cartoon that I saw right after the attack. The cartoon showed Lady Liberty with tears in her eyes.

GO TO SLEEP
August 16, 2004
Boots was my GodCat. She was my best friend Billie's cat, and my cat Max's best friend. On August 14, 2004, Boots crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, into the loving arms of her creator. Boots' passing brought back memories of all the other pets I've known who have gone across the Bridge before her. This poem is dedicated to all of the pets who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, and to all of the broken hearted humans they have left behind. One day, the grief of parting will be replaced by the joy of reunion.

MY WISHES FOR YOU
January 1, 2008
I wrote this as a Happy New Year message to all of my friends. Certain verses are dedicated to certain people, but the overall message is for everyone.
