WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES
When I look in your eyes,
this is what I see.
The young man who many years ago,
fell in love with me.
I remember when we met,
at that high school dance.
You had my heart captured,
I didn’t stand a chance.
After college we were wed,
to share life’s trials and joys.
Soon the children came along,
and the house was filled with noise.
It seems like only yesterday,
oh, how the time has flown.
Now all of our dear children,
have children of their own.
But today each time you look at me,
it’s the same as way back when.
And my heart will still skip a beat,
as it did back then.
We’ve shared so much together,
all the laughter and the tears.
A lot of love and happiness,
have filled up all the years.
After all this time,
it’s such a nice surprise.
I still see love’s reflection,
when I look in your eyes.
