Go to sleep,
close your eyes.
The time has come,
for our good byes.

You’ve been a faithful,
and loving friend.
But your time on earth,
has come to an end.

In my heart,
you can’t be replaced.
My memories of you,
cannot be erased.

Don’t be afraid,
you won’t be alone.
You’ll be greeted,
by all the pets I’ve known.

Share stories of the time,
I spent with you.
Say I still love,
and miss them too.

When God decides,
the time is right.
We’ll be together,
in heaven’s light.

Until then,
I’ll have to wait.
But one day I’ll find you,
at St. Peter’s gate.
